“Steps”, Acrylic on Canvas, 30″ x 24″, October 2013
Vancouver is known for its stunning natural landscape. Both visitors and locals alike can attest to experiencing the connection and transition between land, sea, and sky. When developing the concept for this particular piece with Vancouver’s beauty in mind, I felt a strong appreciation for the simplicity and elegance of crisp horizontal lines. Different thicknesses combined with varying color gradients create a visual environment that attempts to capture the land, sea, and sky connection.
The clients to whom this commissioned piece belongs live in Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighborhood, where transitions of landscape are enjoyed and evident.
